Dinner with Friends

The pop-up concept Dinner with Friends was organized by Malmö City in collaboration with Made with many. Many small and medium-sized cities in Sweden have changed, due to the large shopping center being built outside the city and by the competition most small shops can’t survive in the inner city. Malmö, as many other cities, has several stores that have gone bankrupt and many shopping windows that have turned empty throughout the city. Dinner with friends restaurant concept transformed an empty shop space during one week and filled it with life, people, business, community and cuisine. A designed atmosphere that favoured both restaurant guests but also people that passed by.

As a designer I was hired to develop and design three lamp installations that inspired to set the whole restaurant’s interior concept, using brown paper to wrap more or less everything. In addition to designing the lamp installation, I also helped Jodi Kelly, curator for the project, to be her right-hand women.
